New Extended Access appointments for Braintree Patients:

We are pleased to announce that the Primary Care Network has made arrangements for GPs, Nurses, Pharmacists and others to be available to host appointments for practice patients from all the 5 surgeries on Saturday's from 9 -5pm

All the clinical staff are members of the 5 practices and they will have full access to your medical record, have the ability to make any necessary referrals, order blood tests etc, this information will then be available within your own medical record back at your usual practice, should you need any follow-up.

The service is being run at The Live Well Hub in Manor Street Braintree.

Please note: this not an emergency service or a walk-in service all appointments are to be made through you usual surgery Monday to Friday and the appropriate information will be provided to you by the reception staff.

Blood appointments available to book on-line at local sites:

Patients are now able to book blood appointments on-line for St Michaels' - Braintree, St Peter's - Maldon, Broomfield Hospital and Christchurch Clinic in Chelmsford.

To book on-line please visit the website www.mse.nhs.uk/blood-tests you will need to register and takes approximately 2 minutes and only needs completing once.  You can also sign-up for other family members who do not have on-line access.

You will receive a text message or e-mail confirming your appointment.

New telephone system 

All calls will be recorded for training and quality purposes.

Our new telephony system will offer you a menu choice so that you get to the right department the first time.  These options are:

 Option 1 – Reception to book, cancel or amended an appointment

 Option 2 - Prescription queries - Between 10 - 12

 Option 3 – Administration team are available between the hours of 10am - 1pm and 4pm - 5.00pm please do not call outside these times. They are not able to book appointments. 

 Option 4 – Secretaries available 9am - 3.30  

 Option 4 – Results – will only be available between  10 - 1 and 3 – 5pm Monday to Friday.  Please allow five working days for your results to be received back at the practice before you call for your results. Results will not be given to a third party, unless written consent has been provided to the practice.

The practice has been scheduled for 2024/25 staff training afternoons.  We will be closed from noon and re-open on the relevant next day:

During the above closures should you need medical support please contact NHS 111 or 999 if a life threatening emergency.

Fees for Non-core service requests

The NHS does not provide within it's core contract requests from patients for completing insurance forms, Taxi/HGV medicals, letters to schools/college or such other organisations and there will be an associated charge to patients for supplying the information they require.

Please visit our reception staff who can confirm the associated costs of your requests.  All requests need to be paid for prior to the work being completed.

Please provide us with at least two weeks notice of such a request as we cannot guarantee that we can complete the work in a shorter time frame.
