If the Doctor/Nurse or other specialist within the surgery ask you to visit for a face to face appointment we are asking all our patients to wear either a face mask or face covering, this will continue to reduce the risks to the patient being seen, other patients waiting and our own staff whether clinical or non-clinical.

Changes to the way in which you Order medication from 1 January 2020

Mid Essex CCG is trying to reduce the amount of medicine wastage seen over the last few years.  From the 1st January 2020 the practice you will need to order your prescriptions directly from the practice in the following ways:

  • e-mail
  • sign-up to on-line services and benefit from being able to book appointments and order your repeat medication.  Patients need to be 16 or over to use this service.

Chemists are fully aware of these changes and will be sign posting patients to drop their repeat slips off at the practice, e-mail, use the on-line service or post to the practice usual address.

Patients that are vulnerable will be supported as much as possible during the change and going forward.

The practice still requires the standard four working days to process all prescription requests and patients are asked to kindly adhere to the four working days turn around.

Scripts will still be sent electronically to the chemist of your choice for dispensing if you have chosen this route or alternatively you can collect your script directly from the practice.

List closure:

The Partners at the practice have made the decision to close our list until further notice.  The practice wants to continue to provide a high standard of care in a safe environment for both patients and clinical staff members.

New telephone system 

All calls will be recorded for training and quality purposes.

Our new telephony system will offer you a menu choice so that you get to the right department the first time.  These options are:

 Option 1 – Reception to book, cancel or amended an appointment

 Option 2 – Administration team – available from 8am – 4pm

 Option 3 – Secretaries available 9am-3pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday then 8am -3pm Thursday and Friday

 Option 4 – Results – will only be available between 3 – 5pm Monday to Friday.  Results will not be given to a third party, unless written consent has been provided to the practice.

The practice has scheduled the following staff training afternoons and will be closed from noon and will re-open on the relevant next day:

During the above closures should you need medical support please contact NHS 111 or 999 if a life threatening emergency.

Extended Hours Access for patients

Should you wish to access a weekend appointment please contact our reception staff during normal surgery hours 8am until 6pm, they will provide you with all the necessary information and book the appointment for you.

The surgery will receive information from your consultation which will be followed-up if required.

Fees for Non-core service requests

The NHS does not provide within it's core contract requests from patients for completing insurance forms, Taxi/HGV medicals, letters to schools/college or such other organisations and there will be an associated charge to patients for supplying the information they require.

Please visit our reception staff who can confirm the associated costs of your requests.  All requests need to be paid for prior to the work being completed.

Please provide us with at least two weeks notice of such a request as we cannot guarantee that we can complete the work in a shorter time frame.
