New telephone system installation dates 28th/29th March 2019:

All calls will be recorded for training and quality purposes.

Our new telephony system will offer you a menu choice so that you get to the right department the first time.  These options are:

 Option 1 – Reception to book, cancel or amended an appointment

 Option 2 – Administration team – available from 8am – 4pm

 Option 3 – Secretaries available 9am-5pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday then 8am -3pm Thursday and Friday

 Option 4 – Results – will only be available between 3 – 5pm Monday to Friday.  Results will not be given to a third party, unless written consent has been provided to the practice.

Patient responsibilities towards the practice

We are asking our patients to support us as follows: 

  • Please make advanced appointments were possible, please ensure you arrive on time otherwise you may not be seen.
  • Please ensure you order your medication on time and give the required 4 working days for your prescriptions to be authorised by the Doctors
  • Our staff are here to help you please be respectful towards them at all times, we have a Zero Tolerance Policy at this practice and it could lead to your removal from the practice.

The practice has scheduled the following staff training afternoons:

Thursday 11 July 2019

The surgery will close from noon but will re-open as normal on the relevant next day.  During this time should you need medical support please contact NHS 111.

Submitting prescriptions from January 2019

The way in which the practice receives prescriptions will not change for patients, however pleased be advised that the practice will have in place from January 2019 a dedicated Prescription Clerk who will support the processing of all requests from patients/chemists whether written, on-line or e-mailed to the practice.

The practice will also be looking to patients to nominate a chemist of their choice to co-ordinate their prescription requests so that prescriptions can be sent electronically directly to the chemist.  It is hoped that this will improve the efficient for patients and the practice in ordering medication.

Pharmacist supporting patients

The practice has employed a Pharmacist Ms S Azad who will be joining the practice from 15 April 2019.  She will be supporting patients with medication reviews, management of long term conditions such as Diabetes, Asthma, COPD - our reception will direct patients when they call to this service as appropriate in the future.

Extended Hours Access for patients

Doctor appointments are now available to patients at the weekend at the following locations:

Chelmsford

Halsted

Maldon

Braintree

Should you wish to access a weekend appointment please contact our reception staff during normal surgery hours 8am until 6pm, they will provide you with all the necessary information and book the appointment for you.

The surgery will receive information from your consultation which will be followed-up if required.

Fees for Non-core service requests

The NHS does not provide within it's core contract requests from patients for completing insurance forms, Taxi/HGV medicals, letters to schools/college or such other organisations and there will be an associated charge to patients for supplying the information they require.

Please visit our reception staff who can confirm the associated costs of your requests.  All requests need to be paid for prior to the work being completed and will be actioned within 10 working days.
