Text Message Reminders

mobile phoneThe practice at this time is not sending out any text message remainders to patients regarding their booked appointments.  Please make a careful note of date and time of your appointment with a Nurse / Healthcare.

The practice has implemented a new text message service for existing and new patients so that you can receive and respond to messages sent by the practice.

As the NHS continues to move towards technology for delivering message to our patient population and this seems to be accepted by patients the following can now be completed via the text message service:

  • reminders for appointments will continue
  • patient can cancel their appointment via the text message service by following the prompts within the text reminder, this will automatically remove your appointment from the clinical systems thereby avoiding DNA letters being sent to patients
  • the practice will use the facility for particular campaigns such as flu reminders, request for confirmation on smoking status and other long term medical conditions.

Patients will need to "opt out" of this service if they no longer wish to receive text messages from the practice.

Patients are responsible for ensuring that any change of mobile number is notified to the practice as soon as possible.
